Varsity Girls Championship: Avery vs Mitchell Round Three

6:53: The teams are warming up in front of a full house as the Lady Vikings and Lady Mountaineers prepare for what looks to be an outstanding game. We will have updates as soon as possible.

7:41: What a first half! Neither team has had a clear advantage as they ended the first quarter tied at 16 and then went into the locker rooms tied at 32. It has been that rough physical game that we thought we would have. Big Red Country is loud and rocking tonight as it is a standing room only. We will have a full game rundown as soon as possible after the contest.

8:35 What a game! Neither team deserved a loss, but one had to go home in 2nd. The teams ended the third period tied, but Mitchell hit a late two point shot with six second remaining to take the 61-59 victory. A rough and tough game, but an excellently played one. We will have more information on this contest and on the Madison and Mountain Heritage varsity boys championship later this evening.
