Below are the varsity men's and women's brackets as Championship Friday begins at 4 p.m. at Avery High School. The Lady Vikings JV team looks to defend its tournament title when it takes on the Madison Lady Patriots. Mountain Heritage and Mitchell square off in the men's JV tournament title game starting around 5:30 p.m.The varsity championships kick off around 7 p.m. when the #2 seed Avery Lady Vikings take on the #1 seed and winner of all 13 conference games this season, the Mitchell Lady Mountaineers. Mitchell is the "home" team for the contest, but expect a raucous crowd to be gathered to support both teams tonight.
Finally, the Mountain Heritage Cougars play the Madison Patriots this evening for the men's varsity championship. Heritage came from behind to defeat Mitchell last evening, while Madison looked strong in defeating Hendersonville.
