On Saturday evening, the Cloudland Highlanders start their quest to Murfreesboro with the start of tournament play. The Lady 'Landers start the action off at 4:00 against University High who upset Unaka last night to advance against the top seeded Cloudland. The boys get in the act in the nightcap as they will compete against University High also at 8:30.
4:35: The Lady 'Landers have started the action off right as they lead 30-14 at the half time break. Cloudland recieved 12 points from Shellie McKinney in bulding the lead. The Lady 'Landers hope to spoil UH's tourney run. Both teams are guarantted a regional slot.
5:16: Cloudland advances to the championship game on Monday afternoon here at Chuckey-Doak with their impressive 49-28 victory over University High. The Lady 'Landers got out in front early and never looked back as they cruised to the victory. Cloudland got on the board early and often in the first half as McKinney dominated the inside of the paint. The Lady 'Landers led 15 to 7 at the end of the first quarter and 30-14 at the break. Jordan Miller led the way with 13 points, while McKinney totaled 12 points. Cloudland will be in the championship game on Monday at 7:30 against the winner of Hampton vs. North Greene.
