Both the junior varsity girls and boys teams from Avery will be on the hardwood this evening at Madison High School in semifinal games of this week's Western Highlands Conference Tournament.Avery's 4th-seeded junior varsity boys team which upended the Madison Patriots 50-48 in Newland Monday afternoon, squares off in Marshall with the top-seeded Mountain Heritage Cougars. Avery upset Heritage in JV boys action just last week in Newland. Tipoff is slated for 5:30 pm.
Immediately after the boys game, the Avery JV girls, who are riding a 12-0 conference record and string of four consecutive conference tournament championships, will square off with Polk County.
Scores and information from both games in Marshall will be posted promptly following this evening's contests.
