'Landers roll past UH

The Cloudland Highlanders advanced to the Region 1-A Championship game, and also secured a substate berth on Monday evening with a 65-46 victory over the University High. The ‘Landers came out as they jumped out to an early 13-2 lead. The Jr. Bucs finally got going, but the ‘Landers led 17 to eight at the end of the first quarter.


Cloudland led 29-21 at the half. The third quarter saw CHS take the lead back to double dights and secured the victory in the fourth quarter. Logam Morgan had 21 points while Matthew Potter had 20. Hyden had 11 points, and Cody Bullwinkle added nine.


The ‘Landers will take on the winner of the Cosby-Hampton game on Thursday evening. The Highlanders will face an opponent from Region 2-A on Monday night with a chance to go to the state tournament on the line.
