The Avery Vikings discovered on Wednesday morning that they were scheduled to travel to Hayesville to take on the Yellow Jackets in opening round action of the NCHSAA 1A high school baseball playoffs on Friday afternoon.Things changed quickly, however, as the association made editions to its original bracket and, at last check, is now scheduled to travel Friday to take on Highlands High School out of the Little Smoky Mountain Conference.
Highlands is a four-win squad, while wild card Avery boasts an 11-9 overall mark, and 7-5 WHC record.
