At Monday evening's meeting, the Avery County Board of Education announced that Bo Manis has been named the new varsity boys head basketball coach at Avery County High School.Manis, a former Senior Bowl football honoree and Vikings basketball standout, has most recently served as head basketball coach for the junior varsity boys team at the high school.
Manis takes over for Art Williamson, who led the club for seven years before resigning as head coach following a 3-23 campaign this past season.
